How this directory is built and checked

Every company here was found by a person reading a public page and entering it by hand. No scraper feeds this database and no list was bought. The sources are company websites, exhibitor lists from European trade fairs, association member rosters and national registers.

Three grades sit on the fields of a record. VERIFIED means somebody opened the named source and read the value there. REPORTED means the company states it and nobody has checked it against anything else. ESTIMATE means the figure was derived or rounded. Each grade prints next to the field it belongs to, so a reader can discount a weak one without writing in. A grade only moves up when a source is opened again.

Verification here has narrow limits and they are worth stating. The check confirms that a business exists, that its website resolves and that the page says what the record claims it says. It does not test a product, walk a factory floor or confirm that a certificate on a website is still in date. Nothing here is an inspection.

The whole directory was assembled and dated on 5 August 2026, and every record still carries that date. Nothing has been rechecked since. Revisits run on a twelve month cycle once the first pass is complete, and three things pull a record forward: a website that stops resolving, an acquisition, or a written correction. Until a record shows a later date, read 5 August 2026 as the day it was written rather than the day it was confirmed.

One external check runs against a public register. The French ADEME SYDEREP producer register holds 3,863 battery producers that have registered in France, published as open data under Licence Ouverte 2.0. Where a company has registered as a producer in France, whatever country it is based in, the profile names its register number and links to the register. The match shows that a company has registered as a producer under extended producer responsibility rules. It shows nothing about quality. France is used because France publishes the register openly.
