How this site handles personal data, what it collects from visitors and from listed businesses, and what anybody can ask to have corrected or removed.

What is collected

Pages on this site are static files. Nothing is collected from a visitor who only reads them. Where a form is submitted, the fields in that form are received in order to answer it.

Analytics

Where measurement is used at all, it is described here before it runs. On sites serving visitors in regions that require consent, no measurement script loads until consent is given.

Information about listed businesses

This site publishes profiles of companies active in the European battery industry. Information about a company as a legal entity is not personal data under the GDPR. Recital 14 states that the Regulation does not cover the processing of personal data which concerns legal persons, including the name and the form of the legal person and the contact details of the legal person. A company name, its registered country and a link to its own website therefore sit outside these rules.

Where a record would identify an individual, it is processed on the basis of a legitimate interest in maintaining a free and independent industry directory, under Article 6(1)(f). The information comes from sources that are public, and each record names the source it came from and the date somebody opened it.

No direct email address and no direct telephone number for any listed company is published here. Some of the collected records held addresses belonging to named individuals, and those are not carried into the site at all. A reader reaches a company through its own website.

Your right to object

Under Article 21 anybody can object at any time, on grounds relating to their particular situation, to processing carried out on the basis of a legitimate interest. If a company or a person appears here and does not want to, the entry is removed. It is free, no account is needed and no reason has to be given.

Corrections and removals

Requests go to REPLACE: a working contact for corrections and removals. Say which page the request is about. A request sent from an address on the company's own domain is acted on directly. A request from anywhere else is still acted on and takes longer, because who is asking gets checked before somebody else's entry is deleted.
